Another nice afternoon had to be spent outside playing some basketball with Wes! The ball was almost as big as he was, but gamely toted it around and chased the ball when it got away. He liked to “dunk” the ball with a little help from me and Grandpa!
I also happen to think he looks great in OSU gear!

Another wonderful spring evening has found us enjoying a nice evening with Grandma Rachel and Grandpa John. We had a nice dinner at Dante Pizzeria (half price wine bottles and wood fired thin crust pizza!) and now are enjoying a wonderful evening out on Mom and Dads’ new deck!
Wes got a new rocket rider for playing at Grandma and Grandpa’s house! The new deck has lots of room for roaming!

As the snow melted we found all kinds of stuff was revealed in our new yard… This nice Wes sized table and chairs made for a nice outdoor bistro.
Cheerios and a sippy cup of milk for one!

Wes and I are outside playing in the backyard while Leah gets a Mom’s night out…

Beautiful weather we are having here in lovely Omaha. I came home last night to find Wes and Leah out in the front yard enjoying the nice weather! Wes running around outside is always a good reason to grab the camera and snap away!

He also loves helping with outside chores and sweeping with the broom is a favorite! He is sure to be a huge “help” during spring cleaning…

Went out with Dad on Sunday to see if we could see the bald eagles out at Lake Manawa, Iowa. The Omaha World Herald had made mention that there had been a lot of sightings of eagles out in the Lake Manawa area, and we have had success in the past seeing eagles there. We hadn’t been out much at all this winter, and John and I had no idea if the ice was out on the lake or not. In the past we were able to go over and see the eagles working fish out of the ice near the shallows, which is an unusual way to view these birds. However, the ice has mostly melted off the lake so the eagles were up in the trees, which tends to be problematic as they don’t stay in an area which is easily accessed. We saw 4-5 eagles flying but all were always on the other side of the lake from us! Thankfully we lucked out and this fellow settled on a tree where we could get a close up shot of him.

Had folks over for brunch the other day to celebrate us having an actual dining room, dining table and the room to entertain without feeling squished…
Grandpa John and Wes were snoozing on the couch, and Auntie B decided to join them. I guess that snoozing on Grandpa is good for big and little kids!

Just a quick post of Wes looking cute… He loves sitting on the steps and is always inviting us to “sit sit!”

Over the weekend Leah and I went to Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha to see Michael Forsberg’s Great Plains exhibit. This exhibit featured amazing images ranging from the landscapes with the huge skies and tall grass to the magnificent and reclusive grizzly. As a person growing up in the Midwest, these images really bring to life the landscape I grew up in and love!
I highly reccomend making the trip down to Joslyn to see this exhibit. It is at Joslyn until May 15th. I also recommend checking out Forsberg’s website at : http://www.michaelforsberg.com/
I noticed this valve the other day at work and had to get a shot of it. We use liquid nitrogen in a dewar to produce nitrogen gas to help with a soldering process. As we run our machine during the day this valve frosts over.
