We had a wonderful morning down in the Old Market, with a trip to the Farmers Market, brunch at Wheatfields, and a nice partly sunny day! Yummy yummy pink grapefruit mimosa’s were enjoyed at Wheatfields!

We love heading down to the Farmers Market so we can get a nice morning out and a chance to get some great local produce. Fresh veggies and greens make for some great dinners during the week. This week we found fresh butter crunch and romaine lettuce, fresh green onions and some awesome local honey. You also can’t beat the fresh baked cinammon rolls from the Parthenon. Great stuff!

A interesting note about the local honey; We started giving Wes some honey every day to try to help with his allergies. He had been having some seriously bad allergies with all the plants coming into bloom right at the same time this spring. Once we started giving him honey, his runny noses started to get better. It’s probably a total coincidence

I saw this interesting reflection in the foam of my dark Irish stout while out celebrating Leah’s birthday. Upstream seasonal dark beer was very tasty!

Oh and the birthday party was fun too!

I noticed this valve the other day at work and had to get a shot of it. We use liquid nitrogen in a dewar to produce nitrogen gas to help with a soldering process. As we run our machine during the day this valve frosts over.

Wes found my snow boots and had to try them on… He tried to walk in them, but they were way to big and heavy.

Thanks to some technical issues with my previous blogging service, I had to implement some changes to the blog.  Blogger is gone, and now we are gonna try WordPress.  This will force me to actually try to evolve into using new technology and maybe make me actually learn something!

Stay tuned and bare with me if it gets rough…

Its finally our first weekend at home with Wes. This last week was a very long week, with a few sleepless nights, trying to decipher cries, and returning to work. Leah and I were both looking forward to Saturday, if for no other reason then we could sleep in, and take our time getting going in the morning.

We had a fun little morning, waking up to his squeaking and cooing to himself, and finally his deciding that we needed to get him so that mom could solve those hunger pains. He nursed for a while, and then when he had his fill, we watched him as he contentedly made big blue eyes while laying on the bed with us watching him. It was a nice little family moment, and one of those moments in time that you want to capture and remember forever. Moments like that make all the sleepless nights and dirty diapers worth it!

Now for some gratuitous baby pics!

Wes going Bananas… Okay more like sleeping, but he does tend to like to take his socks off and fling them around!
