I had the privilege of being the photographer at my cousin Marissa’s wedding. Marissa married Derry Stover in a nice ceremony in Columbus, Nebraska.

Ray and Ila Kunc - 61st Wedding Anniversary

My grandparents Ray and Ila Kunc celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary with the family at the Slattery Vintage Estates & Tasting Room in Nehawka, Nebraska. A private dinner party and wine sampling in the tasting room at Slattery was fantastic! Thanks to Barb and Sarah Slattery for a wonderful evening!

Wes can finally pedal his tricycle all by himself. His driving skills might still need a bit of work!

This little killdeer was popping around in a puddle near work and the smooth surface of the water made for a nice reflecting pool. The puddle forms in a low section of a boulevard and a parking lot and the birds hunt, drink and bathe in the puddle. Click on the picture below to view the entire gallery.

Woke up the other morning after a night full of thunderstorms to fantastic filtered light due to the remaining overcast with fresh blooming flowers sprinkled with rain. Getting shots of the brilliantly colored blossoms with the water drops on it look like jewels glittering in the sun.

A line of severe storms rolled in about 30 minutes before sunset last night turning the early evening skies into a menacing black gloom. As the main part of the storm passed overhead, the sun begin to filter thru the remaining clouds, and the yellow light from the sunset turned the sky yellow. The air was so thick and heavy with humidity and a light mist, that even the air seemed to glow a faded orange / yellow tone. I stepped out to get some pictures of the other worldly light when I saw these fantastic mammatus clouds lit up by the sun.

The College World Series is back in Omaha, so that means severe weather is going to roll into Omaha. Sure enough, the third day of the CWS and a large line of thunderstorms rolled into Omaha, sirens wailing, wind blowing and hail falling.

On our recent trip to Denver, Leah and I spent some time up in the mountains of Colorado. We took a trip up to Lookout Mountain to see Buffalo Bill Cody’s grave site and get the great panoramic view of the plains of Eastern Colorado and Denver. After stopping and seeing the Bill Cody Museum (surprisingly well done and much bigger and more extensive than expected) we headed up towards the snowy peaks along the Continental Divide. We spent the day in the historic mining town of Georgetown, Colorado getting snowed on in late May!

Leah and I took a trip out to Denver to see U2′s 360 Tour at Invesco Field in May, and we were lucky enough to get to spend a few days experiencing Colorado. We spent an enjoyable morning down in Denver’s LoDo district and I was able to snap a few shots for this gallery. The mix of architecture in the LoDo district provided some iconic and historic buildings.
